Joonyoung Lee

Joonyoung is a Ph.D. student in the combined program of East Asian Languages and Literatures and Film and Media Studies. He received his M.A. in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Pennsylvania (2024) and B.A. from the University of Tokyo (2022). His areas of interest include Japanese and Korean cinema and media, media events, the intersection of nationalism and technology, and the interpretation of cinematic style and images. His working languages are English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (advanced), and French (reading).
