Movie Memory Project
Camille Thomasson created the Movie Memory Project in 2018. Students in her course, Classical Hollywood Narrative, interview people born before 1952 about their first movie memories. These interviews capture childhood impressions of film stories and characters, theaters and venues, and foodways. The Project aims to collect data from the audiences’ perspective, most notably, the perspective of children. In conducting the interviews, students make a personal connection to the era. Pam Patterson designed the Movie Memory Project site.
