Biography:

I am a PhD student in the departments of English and Film & Media Studies. Before coming to Yale, I earned a B.A. in English (with a concentration in medieval literature) at the University of Virginia, as well as an M.A. in English and Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My research focuses on the history of visual cultures in England, America, and France across the 18th and 20th centuries. I am interested in theories of subjectivity, problems of meaning-making, and the relationship between art, devotion, attention, and practice.
