Bio: Eden Rea-Hedrick is pursuing a combined PhD in English and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Yale as well as the graduate certificate in Film and Media Studies. Their research sits at the intersection of queer and disability studies as they consider the impact of the shifting medical model of homosexuality on queer fiction, film, and popular culture across the twentieth century in Britain and the US. They earned a B.A. in English from Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis and studied English and Comparative Literature as a visiting student at St Anne’s College, Oxford. At Yale, they work as a graduate lead mentor for the Academic Strategies Program and a lead writing partner for the Yale College Writing Center as well as serving on the English department’s Graduate Student Advisory Committee.
